About
This site is about my hobbies and leisure activities, as well as some family history. If you are interested in my professional life... click on the LinkedIn icon above. Thanks for visiting.
As Mark Twain once said (after a much more often quoted first sentence...) “Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” And so, through the years, the Briands have tried their best to visit different “corners”, far as well as close by.
I inherited the collecting “bug” from my mother who, as my father was quick to remark, started a new collection anytime she had two of something! Some of the more interesting results of that particular illness are on view in this section...
Many Briands (and other related family members) took to the pen on a variety of topics: in this section you will find a guide to some of these wonderful writings, some of them, needless to say, are very hard to find!.
Genealogy is a wonderful way to remember where you are coming from and to explore the history surrounding one's family!
As a bizarre cross between multi-generations normans and north african colonials I am always amaze at what I can find out when going back in time...
so, here, you will find family trees, photographic records and anecdotes, along with my personal thoughts about this particular aspect of time travel.
